Removal of Defects
Defects shall be cut out by chipping or machining or by burning out by the "Air Arc Weld Process”.



Reg. 266 e

Examination before Re-welding

Where a defective part has been cut out, the Inspecting Authority shall be entitled to make an examination before re-welding.

Process used for Repairs

Only metallic arc welding shall be used for repairs.

Radiographical Examination after Repairs

All repaired areas shall be subjected to radiographic or radioscopic examination by the approved techniques.




Reg. 266 h

Specimen Representing Repairs

The Inspecting Authority shall be entitled to call for specimens representing any welded repair, for the purpose of examination and test.




Reg. 266 i

Diagram of Welded Repairs

On completion of all welded repairs the manufacturers shall, if requested, supply for record purposes a detailed diagram showing the position, length, depth and width of all such repairs.
