National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmadabad: is a design school in Ahmedabad with campuses in Gandhinagar and Bengaluru. The institute functions as an autonomous body under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. NID is recognised by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research under Ministry of Science and Technology, government of India, as a scientific and industrial design research organisation. NID offers 4-year Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) for students of +12 level and 2-2 1/2year Post Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (PGDPD) for graduates in Fine Arts/Architecture/Technology/Engineering etc., from its 3 campuses (Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar/Bengaluru) with specialization in over 16 design domains.
